In summer, many visitors use the village of KALS as a starting point for climbing the highest mountain in Austria, the GROSSGLOCKNER.
In winter you can enter the skiing area "Großglockner Resort Kals - Matrei" directly in front of the front door.
The village is situated at an altitude of 1,325 m and thus belongs to one of the most snow-sure skiing areas in Austria - also in the future! This also means that the nights are cool in summer, while it can be pleasantly warm during the day.
