Summer is officially over now and the autumn has started! Even though the temperatures are dropping a bit, and days are getting shorter, for many locals in Zell am See and Kaprun, the Autumn is the nicest season. The weather is perfect for hiking and biking, and the autumn colors of the trees in combination with the white mountain peaks are the most beautiful mountain views you will ever see!

Actually, what a lot of people don’t know, is that it is also for property owners the autumn the best season to visit their holiday homes. Why that is, we will explain in this blog!

Rental income

In the autumn Zell am See and Kaprun are slowly getting quieter. Hotels and apartments drop their prices, to get the last tourists in, and the occupation rate is lower. Therefore, if an owner stays in their own holiday home, they are not really missing out on rental income. Especially not, if you compare it to July or August. This way the planned return can still be achieved, even though you had a nice free holiday yourself!

The end of Summer also means that there are a lot of activities happening. Many villages organize Bauernherbst, which is a little village festival with nice traditional food and beers until late in the evening. It is also the time, where the Almabtrieb happens, and the farmers take the cows down from the mountains into the barns in the valley. The cows will be decorated beautifully with flowers, and it is amazing to see.

Early start of the Ski season

Thanks to the glacier and the high altitude on the Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun, you can also already ski and snowboard in the autumn! It is the perfect time a year to go skiing in the morning and swimming and sunbathing in the afternoon at the Tauern spa! Temperature wise it is also ideal for biking and hiking; still sunny, but not too hot if you are going uphill for a long time to reach a peak!

Not crowded

Last but not least… Zell am See and Kaprun can get fairly busy in the high season. It is nice to visit these places when it is just a little bit less busy but when there is still enough to do!

Try it yourself. The start of the autumn has been really good so far and is also looking good for the next week ?. See you soon?

HIER waren wir schon erfolgreich!
